How to wash your brain

Practicing Mindfulness

The ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing, and not excessively reactive or overwhelmed by what is happening around us is known as mindfulness.

Our meditation sessions help us improve mindfulness. Although meditation is one of the best ways to practice mindfulness, you can practice general mindfulness outside of meditation as well. With mindfulness, you're simply paying attention to whatever is happening in the present moment without judgment.

It could be the sensations you feel in your body, the sounds you hear around you, the thoughts and emotions you're experiencing, or anything else.

You can use mindfulness to bring your attention to the present moment during everyday activities, such as eating, walking, or talking.

Beginners guide to Mindfulness

1. Find something to focus on. It could be a conversation with a friend, food you’re eating, sitting at a park or anything.

2. Try observing whatever you are doing and bring your attention back to whatever you are doing whenever your mind wanders away.

3. Just like meditation, whenever your mind wanders, bring it back to the present moment.

4. Start with 5 minutes daily and work your way up to longer periods.

5. Make it a habit to be mindful during everyday activities.

6. Enjoy the feeling of peace and relaxation that comes with it.
